These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of knoyu, operated by Flowstead LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). By creating an account or using knoyu, you agree to these Terms.
You must be at least 18 years old to use knoyu. knoyu is an adult service and may include sexually explicit content. By using the service, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
knoyu is an AI-powered personal companion that remembers your conversations, extracts memories, detects contradictions, and provides personalized responses. knoyu is not a therapist, medical provider, financial advisor, or legal counsel. Its responses are generated by AI and should not be treated as professional advice.
You agree not to:
knoyu offers optional uncensored personality modes that include explicit language and adult sexual content. These are opt-in and available only to users 18 and older. The content generated in these modes reflects the chosen persona style and does not represent the views of Flowstead LLC.
Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abuse. There is no tolerance for objectionable content (including sexual content involving minors, content that promotes real-world violence or illegal activity, or harassment of any real person) or abusive behavior. You can report objectionable content or an abusive user from within the app. We review reports and act on them — including removing content and banning users — within 24 hours. By using knoyu you agree to these terms and acknowledge that violations may result in immediate account termination.
Enforcement. Automated safety systems review conversations for the prohibited categories above. Attempting to obtain sexual content involving a minor results in immediate account suspension pending review and, on confirmation, permanent termination. Repeated attempts to obtain instructions for serious crimes (weapons or explosives manufacture, drug synthesis, and similar) result in escalating suspensions and may result in permanent termination. Flagged activity may be reviewed by a human and is retained as an enforcement record. Expressing difficult emotions — including anger, dark humor, or thoughts of self-harm — is never itself a violation and is never punished. To appeal an enforcement action, contact hello@knoyu.ai.
You own the content you provide to knoyu. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely to operate and improve the service for you. We do not use your data to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.
knoyu offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel at any time — your access continues through the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If your account is terminated for a violation of the acceptable use policy, your subscription is cancelled immediately and no refund is issued.
We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes do not affect your current billing period.
knoyu's responses are generated by artificial intelligence. While we strive for accuracy, AI can produce incorrect, incomplete, or inappropriate content. You acknowledge that:
We aim to keep knoyu available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications at any time. We are not liable for any downtime or data loss resulting from service interruptions.
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy, except that we may retain enforcement records (the violation category, timestamps, and a limited excerpt of the violating content) for abuse prevention, to handle appeals, and to satisfy legal obligations. Where the law requires it — including suspected child sexual exploitation — we report to the appropriate authorities, such as the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Flowstead LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of knoyu. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
knoyu is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of knoyu after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights. Except for disputes that qualify for small-claims court, you and Flowstead LLC agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of knoyu will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, administered by a recognized arbitration provider under its consumer rules, rather than in court.
Class-action and jury waiver. You and Flowstead LLC agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding. You and Flowstead LLC waive any right to a jury trial.
30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing hello@knoyu.ai within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, stating your name and that you opt out of arbitration. If any part of this section is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Flowstead LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of knoyu or violation of these Terms.
knoyu respects intellectual-property rights. If you believe content made available through the service (for example, a shared card) infringes your copyright, send a notice with the information required by 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3) to our designated agent at hello@knoyu.ai. We will respond to valid notices, remove infringing material, and provide a counter-notice process where applicable.
